4. SUNSET CRUISE ON THE RIVER & LAKEIf you haven't seen a Saugatuck sunset yet, what better way to view it than on the river and lake. Grab a ticket on a sunset cruise down the river and out to the lake to go up and down the coast line. Our favorite tour company is Sailing Saugatuck. They book up weeks in advance, so make sure to book a tour online.
|
5. HIKE MT Baldhead and the PeninsulaThere are lots of great hikes in the area, including our favorite around Mt Baldhead and the peninsula. To hike, from the house go out to Ferry St./ Park St. and take a left. You will reach the end where you can either climb the stairs to the top of Mt Baldhead or continue pass the signs saying "no turn around" until you reach Oxbow Art School. You can park in the lot or if you walked/biked, start the round trip trail.

Explore the Art SceneSaugatuck is famous for its art heritage from the many art galleries that line downtown to the Saugatuck Center for the Arts with exhibits, theater, performances, and workshops to the Ox-Bow School of Art and Artist's Residency with workshops, classes, and open studios to finally the Express Yourself Art Barn which is great for kids and adults alike to create their own art.

7. Fruit Picking in Fennville, MIThere are a multitude of fruits that can be picked from June to October. Fennville is in the surrounding area of Saugatuck/Douglas which hosts U-pick apples, cherries, peaches, blueberries, and pumpkins, just to name a few. Crane's Orchards, Overhiser Orchards, and Pleasant Hill Blueberry Farm are some of our favorites.
|
8. Saugatuck Dunes RideThe Saugatuck Dunes Rides offers a 40 minute tour of Saugatuck Dunes, where guides are informative with a great sense of humor.
